Info Kiosks in Mati launched

TAGUM CITY April 21 (PIA)- Barely seven days in preparation, the Information Kiosk in the City of Matiisset tobe opened today , providing easy accessfor people to get information about the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)and about the major programs and programs ofthe national and local governments.

PIA gearstobring down tothe grassroots levelits public advocacy campaign on ASEAN after staginga three-in-one information kiosk opening on February 22 in the cities of Davao and Tagum.One was opened at the Davao International Airport (DIA) and two in Tagum City at Big 8 Corporate Hotel and at Robinsons Place Tagum.

The Mati Information Kiosk is the fourth set up by PIA in close cooperation bythe City Government of Mati in Davao Oriental.

Located at the lobby of the City Hall of Mati, such Information Kiosk bears the mark of partnership of PIA with the LGU of Mati whichhas accepted the call to pool together information materials ofkey national and local government programs along with those regardingthe ASEAN which this yearis chaired by the Philippines.

PIA Director General Harold E. Clavite will grace the occasion and will lead the Information Kiosk opening rites together with PIA Regional Director Efren F. Elbanbuena.

The will be welcomed by City of Mati Mayor Carlo Luis Rabat and City Vice Mayor Glenda Rabat-Gayta.

To maximize the occasion, the City Government of Mati through the City Information Office organizes a Multi-sectoral Forum on ASEAN and has invited students, people in the academe and local functionaries to the event.

Media practitioners of the City of Mati and Davao Cityhave been invited to cover the event thatis expected to trigger interest among LGUs of Davao Oriental toalso set up their respective Information Kiosks. (PIA 11/ Jeanevive Duron-Abangan)
