Myanmar reports 22 new COVID-19 cases

YANGON, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar reported 22 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Sports on Tuesday.

The number of COVID-19 infections rose to 141,783. No new death was reported and the death toll was recorded at 3,197 so far.

A total of 131,358 recovered patients have been discharged from hospitals as of Tuesday, the ministry's release said.

A total of 1,159 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the Southeast Asian country on Tuesday, down from around 10,000 samples tested daily in the first week of this month.
